    About the role

    The Mater Private Hospital Rockhampton has an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse to join their Surgical Ward in a permanent or casual capacity.

    Mater Private Hospital Rockhampton has been supporting the health of people living in and around Rockhampton for more than a century. Our heritage-listed Kenmore building was purchased by the Sisters of Mercy in 1915 and opened as the first Mater Hospital in Central Queensland. Today, our 136-bed facility features five operating theatres, a private emergency service and a wide range of specialised clinical services.

    Salary range: Salary range: $ $51.74 per hour (RN Level 1) plus superannuation and access to generous salary packaging

    What you'll be doing

    Our Registered Nurses provide evidence-based and contemporary patient-centred clinical care in collaboration with other multidisciplinary healthcare team members. The delivery of care extends to patient advocacy with particular consideration to patients' physical, emotional and spiritual needs that contribute to optimal clinical outcomes.

    Registered Nurses are responsible for ensuring safe and efficient care management within the scope of practice and professional guidelines. Still, they may not be limited to legislation, regulations, standards, codes, qualifications, registration and clinical competencies.

    To be successful in this position, you will have the following:

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse with no practice restrictions
  • Digital and computer proficiency
  • Minimum of one-year post-graduate experience
  • Effective communication and clinical problem-solving skills to maximise patient care and outcomes
  • Knowledge and commitment to continuous improvement of health care and nursing practice
  • Demonstrates a collaborative and engaging approach to teamwork and the ability to work within the multi-disciplinary team
