    One of our valued clients within the defence industry is looking for an experienced Integration Systems Engineer for the management and successful integration of all external and internal interfaces of their programs.

    This is a permanent full time opportunity based in Melbourne.
    The candidate must be an Australian citizen and must have a NV1 Defence Security Clearance.
    About the Role

    Lead a team of technical engineers, project managers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure successful integration activities for all programs.

    Chair meetings and organise Interface Control Working Groups to ensure systems interfaces are well defined and managed.
    Perform system engineering activities including requirements gathering, design integration, verification and validation.
    Conduct configuration audits and ensure systems are safe.

    Work with subcontractors and customers to ensure all integration activities are carried out successfully and quality outcomes are delivered to the end customers.

    About you
    A tertiary qualification in an Engineering discipline, Mechanical engineering degree is desirable.
    Chartered Professional engineer (desirable).
    Extensive experience in systems engineering with defence.
    Knowledge of ASDEFCON templates.
    Strong stakeholder management skills, and ability to handle complex situations to negotiate positive outcomes.
    Strong problem-solving and decision making skills.
    Experience delivering large scale complex programs, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
    Experience with Product Lifecycle Management system (desirable).

    About the role As a Mechanical Engineer your role will play a crucial part in working on all product stages from research and development to design and manufacture, through to installation and final commissioning.

    The goal is to design and fabricate mechanical components of innovation and excellence.
    As a Mechanical Engineer, your responsibilities include: Designs mechanical products and systems by developing and testing specifications and methods.

    Evaluates mechanical systems and products by designing and conducting research programs and applying principles of mechanics, hydraulics, heat transfer, and materials.

    Confirms system and product capabilities by designing feasibility and testing methods and properties.

    Develops mechanical products by studying customer requirements; researching and testing manufacturing and assembly methods and materials; and soliciting observations from operators.

    Develops manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for fabricating, building, assembling, and installing components.

    Assures system and product quality by designing testing methods; testing finished product and system capabilities; and confirming fabrication, assembly, and installation processes.

    Prepares product reports by collecting, analysing, and summarizing information and trends.
    Provides engineering information by answering questions and requests.
    Maintains product and company reputation by complying with government regulations.

    Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; following the manufacturer's instructions and established procedures; and requesting special services.

    Maintain database and product database by writing computer programs and entering data.
    Completes projects by training and guiding technicians.

    Designing mechanical equipment, machines, components, products for manufacture, and plant and systems for construction.
    Developing specifications for manufacture and determining materials, equipment piping, material flows, capacities and layout of plant and systems.
    Organising and managing project labour and the delivery of materials, plant and equipment.

    Establishing standards and policies for installation, modification, quality control, testing, inspection and maintenance according to engineering principles and safety regulations.

    Inspecting plant to ensure optimum performance is maintained.
    Directing the maintenance of plant buildings and equipment, and coordinating the requirements for new designs, surveys and mainenance schedules.

    Required Skills and Experience:
    Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering (master's preferred).2 years of experience working in the mechanical engineering field or more.
    Superior computer skills, with solid experience in CAD, CAM, and Matlab/Lab View programs.
    Solid technical background, with understanding or hands-on experience in software development and web technologies.
    Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills.
    Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

    Exceptional ability to engage and communicate with groups of people, tailoring communication to suit a specific target group or age range.

    Highly developed verbal and written communication skills.
    Advanced computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets and database applications.

    Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple and competing work tasks and deliver to agreed deadlines.

    White card is essential.

    We are currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Reliability Engineer to join our plant maintenance team.

    Reporting to the Manager of Plant Maintenance, you will lead the asset management strategy and reliability process to support and monitor machine performance and maintenance standards.

    Key Responsibilities of the role will include, but not be limited to:

    • Review and develop asset management practices and strategies to support and improve the reliability and maintenance of the On Track Machines.
    • Lead the asset condition assessment and provide input into critical component change outs and overhauls, including equipment life cycle strategy.
    • Review and monitor maintenance plans and strategies for planned and unplanned works.
    • Support the maintenance team as required for fault finding and diagnostics.
    • Lead improvement of Machine Availability, Condition Monitoring, Defect Elimination, Root Cause Analysis, Managing Machine Heath Programs and Continuous Improvement.
    • Provide guidance on the technical direction of activities, risk and cost for maintenance activities.
    • Conduct structured reviews using proven methodologies to improve maintenance strategies, optimising equipment reliability and maintenance costs.
    Essential Criteria

    • Tertiary Qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
    • Demonstrated experience on On Track Machine (Plasser & Theurer), including analysis of asset performance and the development of maintenance best practices and standards to support asset reliability.
    • Proven experience in applying asset management principals and frameworks.
    • Root cause analysis skills to identify and prevent faults.
    • Demonstrable understanding of reliability engineering and asset life planning strategies.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office including MS Projects and Excel.
    • Motivated work ethic and ability to think strategically and communicate clearly.

    Additional information The position will be based out of our Telarah office with travel required for projects, predominantly within the Hunter Valley ARTC rail network and other areas across regional NSW area and interstate as necessary.

    The position will be subject to SRA employment conditions and supporting conditions in accordance with the Rail Industry Award.
