Technical Officer - Dive Fisheries
This role is part of the Dive Fisheries research team at {company}, which aims to provide robust scientific advice to government for the sustainable management of Tasmania's Abalone and Commercial Dive Fisheries.
The Technical Officer will provide technical assistance across various dive-based fishery and ecological scientific research projects. Key responsibilities include:
To be successful in this role, applicants should possess a degree in a relevant field, such as marine science or environmental science. They should also have excellent organisational skills, ability to work in a team environment, and adaptability and flexibility in an environment of change and competing priorities.
Applicants should also have practical experience and knowledge in fisheries research, skilled vessel handling, and computer programs. Additionally, they should demonstrate sound interpersonal skills, written and oral communication, and current Australian drivers licence with Light Rigid Truck or greater, and Commercial Vessel License Coxswain Grade 1 or higher.
Appointment to this role will be at HEO 5, with a total remuneration package of up to $102,190 comprising base salary and 17% superannuation.
