    The Role of the Electrical Engineer is to provide technical support and recommendations for electrical systems and components to improve the reliability and predictive maintenance tactics of the HME (Heavy Mobile Equipment) fleet within FMG operations.

    This role also supports the broader business in the development and integration of HME electrification and automation technologies.

    A key responsibility is to implement proactive initiatives to improve asset health, reduce expenditure and eliminate risk from operational tasks specific to electrical and autonomous equipment.

    Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement WOL asset management strategies, tactics, and documentation for Electrical, High-Voltage, and Automation systems within the HME fleet and supporting electrical infrastructure
    Identify, investigate, and implement safety, cost-saving, and quality improvement initiatives for Electrical, High-Voltage, and Autonomy systems within the HME fleet and supporting electrical infrastructure
    Provide electrical engineering support to all sites to ensure that equipment is maintained in accordance with WOL plans, FMG and legislative standards
    Identify maintenance and repair practice improvements through the development of a close relationship with the on-site maintenance teams and observation of breakdown and scheduled repair processes and practices
    Lead RCA and DE processes in identification of both current and historic, chronic and acute issues in the Electrical, High Voltage and Autonomy systems
    Work with broader team to integrate on-board machine hardware with remote monitoring systems
    Support the development and integration of the electrification and automation of the HME fleet across FMG operations leading into operational electrical engineering support
    Qualifications and ExperienceTertiary Qualifications in Electrical/ Mechatronic Engineering or a related discipline
    2-3 years experience in an electrical, maintenance or reliability engineering role
    Knowledge of electrical ELV, LV and HV distribution systems and drive systems
    Knowledge of electrical protection systems for mobile equipment
    High Voltage drive, propulsion and/or onboard distribution system experience
    Mining and heavy mobile equipment and or autonomous fleet experience
    Experience in facilitating Defect Elimination (DE), Continuous Improvement (CI) and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) processes
    Strong conceptual thinking and analytical focus
    Excellent problem-solving skills and continual improvement focus
    Knowledge of computer management systems (SAP, MS Office etc)
    Communication, Facilitation and Presentation skills
