    Stan Perron Ethical Philosopher in Business

    This role presents a unique and exciting opportunity that will play a crucial role in assisting the School of Law and Business (the School) in delivering the University's strategic plan, especially with a focus on Integral Human Development as one of its five key pillars. It is also an important indication of the unique contribution that The University of Notre Dame Australia (Notre Dame) makes to the higher education landscape. The Ethical Philosopher will be tasked with asking questions which challenge our staff and students, and ensuring that we grow in line with our Objects and vision for the School.

    The Ethical Philosopher is a critical addition to our School because we place importance upon thinking through everything we do and why we do it.

    Responsibilities

    · Ensuring the conceptual foundations of key decisions for curriculum are sound.

    · Guiding members of the School community on the ethical and societal implications of decisions, and applying ethical frameworks in business.

    · Reviewing and contributing to course design of a first-year compulsory business ethics course and in the embedding of ethics across the Business programs of the School

    · Coaching colleagues across the School about ethical leadership

    · Networking externally with academic and research institutions, and representing the School.

    · Providing thought leadership, keeping the School aware of key ethical business and leadership issues and debates.

    · Supporting research in the identification of future scenarios and macro trends.

    Qualifications

    · PhD in Philosophy and qualifications in discipline such as Economics, Commerce, Finance or other business related disciplines.

    · Experience working across strategic and operative business functions.

    · Connections with international bodies such as the United Nations and Business Ethics Network.

    · Informed and engaged in trends in technology and society, such as debates in leadership, Al, automation, international conventions, sustainability, ethical issues in management and other social issues facing business.
