    Your role at St John of God Midland Hospital

    The Senior Physiotherapist (Inpatient Stroke) works alongside the multi-disciplinary team on a comprehensive stroke ward to provide senior clinical physiotherapy services to clients/patients.

    The Senior Physiotherapist (Inpatient Stroke) is expected to work independently and demonstrate a depth of experience. The Senior Physiotherapist (Inpatient Stroke) is expected to initiate and participate in teaching, training, research and quality activities, to supervise students and supervise and mentor junior caregivers.

    The Position

    • Provide high quality evidence based senior Physiotherapy services to patients/clients within the clinical specialty area/s.
    • Provide physiotherapy assessment, intervention and evaluation at a senior practice level for complex and general caseload/s.
    • Ensure that direct working relationships are established and maintained with colleagues and internal/external customers.
    • Use of Evidence Based Patient treatment outcome measures and use of Patient feedback - satisfaction measures and quality assurance activities
    • Ensure prioritisation and delegation of duties of Physiotherapy caseloads for self and supervised staff.
    • Demonstrates strong, current clinical knowledge and skills and applies this to contribute to supporting individuals and teams in clinical practice.
    • Leads and contributes to undergraduate student programs and training.
    • Leads and develops junior staff within the team.
    • Acts as a role model for staff in promoting professional values and ethics.
    • Represents the profession either clinically or in relation to service development as require. Initiates and participates in working parties, committees and internal forums at a discipline and divisional level as required.

    You will hold current registration with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia (AHPRA) and have demonstrated senior clinical experience and leadership in clinical practice as a Physiotherapist within a healthcare and disability setting.

    To succeed you will hold the ability to develop evidence based and innovative clinical practices and initiating quality activities. Having the ability to undertake professional supervision and/or mentor junior staff and to promote professional competence and growth in staff is essential.

    Post-entry qualification or working towards Graduate Certificate (or equivalent) would be desirable.

    • Salary: $118,077.00 to $125,904.00 pro rata, plus 11% superannuation
