    About this role

    Machine Operator – Cemintel, Wetherill Park

    About the opportunity

    We are seeking an experienced Machine Operator to join the team based at our manufacturing site in Wetherill Park NSW. The position requires you to operate site machinery safely and efficiently to enable the overall success of the team.

    You will work rotating shifts, on a nine and a half (9.5) day roster consisting of 12 hour shifts 2 day and 2 nights.

    Responsibilities for this key role will include:

    • Engage the team to ensure the delivery of safe, low cost, efficient and high-quality production
    • Carry out role in line with site safety requirements
    • Deliver on production KPIs
    • Ensure appropriate communication and feedback is in place, including technical review and recommendation of machine / site running conditions
    • Complete routine maintenance tasks, such as high-pressure cleaning, removal of waste material from pits, channels, and vessels
    • Complete ad-hoc tasks as directed
    • Attend to breakdowns, including tall activities in assisting the machine to gain operational status
    • Attend to and provide for Continuous improvement initiatives
    • Participate in training
    • Train new employees and contractors
    • Maintain a high standard of housekeeping, including shovelling, sweeping, painting and vacuuming,
    • Set up machines (calibration, cleaning etc.) to start a production cycle
    • Control and adjust machine settings (e.g. speed)
    • Feed raw material or parts to semi-automated machines
    • Inspect parts with precision and measuring tools
    • Test operation of machines periodically
    • Fix issues that might occur during the shift
    • Check output to spot any machine-related mistakes or flaws
    • Keep records of approved and defective units or final products
    • Maintain activity logs
    • Carry out quality inspections

    Skills & Qualifications required

    To be considered for this role Ideally you will have.

    • Hands-on experience in manufacturing environments
    • Proven capacity to collaborate effectively within a team setting
    • Demonstrated aptitude for problem-solving
    • Strong communication abilities, both written and verbal
    • Proficiency in fault-finding techniques
    • Fundamental skills in operating computers and handheld devices (excluding mobile phones)
    • Familiarity with various high-speed machinery and precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers)
    • Understanding of production protocols and procedures
    • Commitment to adhering to health and safety regulations, including consistent utilization of protective equipment
    • Competence in interpreting blueprints, schematics, and manuals
    • Analytical mindset
    • Meticulous attention to detail
    • Excellent physical endurance and strength
    • High school diploma or equivalent; technical education background preferred
    • Capability to operate a forklift
    • Ability to work effectively in confined spaces
    • Comfort working at elevated heights
