    Chief Executive Officer

    The Australian Marine Conservation Society is seeking a visionary leader to protect Australia's oceans and marine life. As the Chief Executive Officer, you will lead our multi-disciplinary team and community of supporters to achieve our mission and grow our impact.

    We are an independent charity dedicated to defending Australia's oceans since 1965. We work with a community of ocean lovers across the nation to tackle major threats to our oceans and advocate for innovative solutions.

    This role offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference in protecting Australia's precious oceans and marine life. You will oversee the development and delivery of our Strategic Plan, ensuring we deliver on our mission and continue to grow our impact.

    About the Successful Candidate

    We seek an engaging and experienced leader with a proven ability to engage with government, industry, and stakeholders to build alliances, influence decision-makers, and achieve change.

    A results-orientated leader with extensive experience in a senior role in the for-purpose sector, conservation and environment sector, or in the advocacy space is preferable. A proven capability to lead a team of professionals to develop and deliver organisational and strategic plans is essential.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Lead AMCS' excellent multi-disciplinary team and community of supporters
    • Oversee the development and delivery of the Strategic Plan
    • Engage with government, industry, and stakeholders to build alliances and influence decision-makers
    • Cultivate strong networks and build enduring partnerships

    Salary: $150,000 - $180,000 per annum
