    About the Role:

    We are currently looking for a dynamic Digital Content Lead to join our Experience Melbourne team. Experience Melbourne is the epicentre of all things exciting including events, destination marketing and tourism at the City of Melbourne.

    Reporting to the Digital Content Manager, the Digital Content Lead, you'll spearhead the creation of innovative and captivating digital content, driving key marketing and communications campaigns, fostering online community engagement, and advancing Council and City of Melbourne initiatives. Your responsibilities will include leading the strategic planning and delivery of email communications and social media posts tailored to diverse audiences, in alignment with the City of Melbourne brand strategy, to boost engagement and optimise channel performance. Collaborating closely with team members, including the Digital Content Coordinator, you'll oversee the development of engaging content, photography, and campaigns across Experience Melbourne's digital platforms.

    We're seeking a digitally savvy individual who thrives on staying ahead of the curve. In this role, you'll stay abreast of the latest digital trends and technologies, providing strategic guidance to ensure that our digital content remains current, relevant, and compliant with the City of Melbourne corporate style guide.

    What you will bring to the Role:

    • A relevant tertiary qualification in communications, marketing, information technology or other relevant field, or relevant practical experience in an online communications role.
    • Demonstrated experience in leading a team and/or leadership capability to achieve high performance outcomes with coaching skills to develop team capabilities, team cohesion and the ability to effectively manage conflict and under performance.
    • Experience in multimedia content creation including video, sound clips and photography, using specialist software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop and all mainstream in app editing software (Instagram, Cap Cut, TikTok etc), and the ability to contribute to planning and shooting of multimedia content for internal stakeholders.
    • Well-developed skills in creating multimedia content and strategies for social networks, e-newsletters and websites, including reporting on the results of activities.
    • Experience in leading, planning and executing routine digital communications activities using a range of proven industry techniques including paid social and performance media.
    • Ability to coordinate and deliver a number of projects simultaneously in a complex environment.
    • High-level research, problem solving, strategic and analytical skills, including the ability to interpret and analyse information that contributes to the development, coordination and delivery of multimedia content within timeframes and budgets.
    • Good interpersonal skills, including the ability to work within a team, and to communicate and liaise with a broad range of stakeholders.
    • Knowledge of the city's destination experiences including hospitality, retail, tourism and cultural attractions and events, and ability to apply this knowledge to content ideation, creation and audience engagement.
    • Procurement and contract management experience and an understanding of how to get the best out of suppliers will be highly regarded.
