    Description

    Wood is currently seeking a Lead Structural Designer in order to grow its Brisbane Mining and Mineral group. We can offer you a career in the ever-expanding battery and magnet metals industry driving the decarbonisation of the globe. Working in the Brisbane CBD, this full time staff role is working on the detailed design scope.

    Wood is at the forefront of engineering solutions for a net zero future. A key component of decarbonising the world is the Mining and Minerals Industry which supplies the critical minerals required for this revolution. Wood is currently delivering critical metals projects (Battery and Magnet metals) all over the world, including Copper, Lithium, Vanadium, Rare Earths, and Base Metals projects.

    Wood is currently seeking a Lead Structural Designer in order to grow its Brisbane Mining and Mineral group. We can offer you a career in the ever-expanding battery and magnet metals industry driving the decarbonisation of the globe. Working in the Brisbane CBD, this full time staff role is working on the detailed design scope.

    What will set you apart is your previous experience within an engineering company working on major mining projects across the world. With a minimum of 10 years in the industry, you will have excellent working knowledge in MicroStation. You will also have:

    • Experience leading a team of designers of all levels on a major project
    • Working knowledge of relational databases and spreadsheets
    • Broad knowledge of construction techniques and plant operations
    • Good understanding of mineral resource technology and structural technology
    • Experience with Process Plant design and layout
    • Possess teamwork skills as well as an understanding of other discipline requirements and expectations
    • Quick and accurate with methodical approach to allocated work areas
    • Good understanding of the scope of work and project development process
    • Proficient checking skills with ability to work unsupervised, focus on task completion, initiative
