    About the role:
    We are on the lookout for an enthusiastic, experienced, and passionate Manager to take YHA Thredbo to the next level following a recent refurbishment. Embracing the mountain lifestyle, the leader of this 52-bed mountain property will be the heart and soul of our operation, ensuring our guests have an unforgettable experience from the moment they arrive.

    What your day will look like:

    • Hands on management of day-to-day operations, including check-ins, housekeeping, maintenance, and guest inquiries.
    • Management and effective leadership of a small team based on seasonal requirements, recruitment, training, rostering, motivation, and development.
    • Maintaining the highest level of cleanliness and comfort in line with YHA quality standards.
    • Providing a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere that keeps guests coming back year after year.
    • Development of strong local partnerships that helps to provide local insights and recommendations to help guests make the most of their time in the mountains.
    • Building a diversified product offering that goes beyond just accommodation (food + beverage, bike hire, experiences).
    • Collaborating with the Customer Team to develop innovative sales and marketing strategies that promote high year-round visitation to YHA Thredbo.
    • Overall financial management of business operations. This will include rate management, stocktakes, budget preparation, regular financial reporting to ensure effective cost control and profitability.
    • Development of Business Plans to ensure continued growth and success.

    What you will need:

    • 2+ years hospitality leadership/management experience with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
    • Excellent communication skills and the ability to connect with people from all walks of life.
    • Driver's license and own vehicle.
    • A solution focussed mindset and the ability to work independently in a remote location.
    • A love for the great outdoors and a desire to share that love with others.
    • Strong organisational skills to keep everything running smoothly, even during the busiest of seasons.
    • A sense of adventure and a willingness to dive into whatever challenges the mountain throws your way.
