- Hands on management of day-to-day operations, including check-ins, housekeeping, maintenance, and guest inquiries.
- Management and effective leadership of a small team based on seasonal requirements, recruitment, training, rostering, motivation, and development.
- Maintaining the highest level of cleanliness and comfort in line with YHA quality standards.
- Providing a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere that keeps guests coming back year after year.
- Development of strong local partnerships that helps to provide local insights and recommendations to help guests make the most of their time in the mountains.
- Building a diversified product offering that goes beyond just accommodation (food + beverage, bike hire, experiences).
- Collaborating with the Customer Team to develop innovative sales and marketing strategies that promote high year-round visitation to YHA Thredbo.
- Overall financial management of business operations. This will include rate management, stocktakes, budget preparation, regular financial reporting to ensure effective cost control and profitability.
- Development of Business Plans to ensure continued growth and success.
- 2+ years hospitality leadership/management experience with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to connect with people from all walks of life.
- Driver's license and own vehicle.
- A solution focussed mindset and the ability to work independently in a remote location.
- A love for the great outdoors and a desire to share that love with others.
- Strong organisational skills to keep everything running smoothly, even during the busiest of seasons.
