    This is a permanent full-time position commencing in January 2025.

    The Incident Support Unit (ISU) is responsible for developing strategic initiatives, organizing, and overseeing the implementation of a coordinated incident management response and capability building for the Department of Education.

    The Role

    If successful, you will undertake an active role in Incident Support Coordination upon activation of Level 2 and 3 incidents.

    You will provide incident management consultancy, advice, and liaise with regional education offices and the West Australian Police Force's State Operations Command Centre to minimize risk to staff, students, and property.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Develops, implements, and evaluates operational incident management strategies in accordance with relevant legislation, frameworks, and governance.
    • Coordinates timely and sustainable incident management services and responses including monitoring emergency alerts and liaison between stakeholders.
    • Assists with building knowledge capability within the Department aligned with the four phases of incident management.

    Required Skills and Qualifications

    • Demonstrated high-level knowledge and experience in risk mitigation and incident management, including expertise in risk and incident management governance from a Government or similar context.
    • Demonstrated ability to implement procedures that facilitate monitoring, reporting, and delivery of outcomes on schedule in a demanding environment and under tight timelines.
    • Demonstrated highly developed communication and interpersonal skills to build effective relationships and networks, including experience in undertaking high-level consultations, collaborations, and negotiations.
    • Demonstrated highly developed written communication skills, including extensive experience in preparing reports and high-level briefing notes and providing input into policy and framework development.
    • Demonstrated highly developed conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills and experience in applying strategic thinking to achieve outcomes and implement effective reform initiatives.

    Salary Information
