    We are looking for a Compliance Officer to join our team. As a Compliance Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the biosecurity compliance of industry stakeholders.

    1. Contribute to the continuous improvement, review and implementation of sound compliance activities and practices through continual learning, participating in mentoring and actively supporting other Compliance Officers in the field.

    Workplace Location:

    1. Exercise powers of an authorised officer under the Biosecurity Act 2014 and support other officers to do the same.
    2. Engage directly with industry stakeholders to provide accurate information and guidance on biosecurity compliance.
    3. Take necessary safety precautions when visiting onsite premises.
    4. Undertake assessments of biosecurity compliance across various industry stakeholders.
    5. Undertake risk assessments of fire ant infestation discovered onsite.
    6. Collect data, samples and documentation from sites to support timely decision making.
    7. Keep accurate records of facts and findings of onsite visits.

    Requirements

    The successful candidate will have:

    • Appointment as a Queensland Biosecurity Authorised Inspector or strong knowledge of legal requirements under relevant Acts or Regulations.
    • Experience explaining compliance requirements to encourage voluntary compliance.
    • Excellent information gathering and analysis skills.
