    The Opportunity:

    Urbis has an exciting opportunity for a Planning Consultant to join our team in Melbourne. This is a great opportunity for motivated individuals wanting to shape cities and communities.

    As a Consultant in Planning, you will have the chance to demonstrate your understanding of statutory and strategic urban planning, playing a vital role in providing input across various services. These includes advice relating to land use, development capability, due diligence assessments, master plans, the approval process, and management.

    This role is based in Melbourne CBD but offers the flexibility to work from our Geelong office. We are also open to considering part-time arrangements for the right candidate.

    You will:

  • Providing a range of services including advice relating to smart city and innovation frameworks, land use advice, development capability, due diligence assessments, planning approval process and project management.
  • Responding quickly and communicating in a clear, concise, and transparent manner to internal and external clients.
  • Working alongside other professionals on a range of multi-disciplinary projects, working to specification, to deadlines, within budget and with a commercial outcome.
  • Drafting submissions, proposals, and advice for clients.
  • Providing input into draft proposals, tenders, and submissions for projects.
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of quality assurance initiatives and Planning's Business Plan.
  • Working alongside other professionals on a range of multi-disciplinary projects, working to specification, to deadlines, within budget and with a commercial outcome
  • Promoting the firm and its services to create business opportunities.
  • About You:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Regional and Urban/Town Planning or a related discipline
  • Some experience in statutory or strategic planning desirable, ideally gained in a consultancy or local government environment
  • Demonstrates a developing appreciation and understanding of statutory planning frameworks, controls and processes;
  • Demonstrates a developing appreciation and understanding of statutory planning frameworks, controls and processes; Demonstrates a developing appreciation and understanding of strategic policies, processes, and influences.
  • Demonstrates a strong solutions-focused approach to work.
