About Madeline Perrett:

I am a dedicated recruiter with three years of experience supporting a First Nations organisation in building strong, values-driven teams. My role is more than filling positions; it is about connecting the right people to meaningful work that strengthens community, culture, and self-determination. I take pride in ensuring our recruitment processes are culturally respectful, inclusive, and aligned with the organisation’s mission and the needs of the communities we serve.

Over the past three years, I have developed skills in talent sourcing, candidate engagement, interviewing, and onboarding, while building trusted relationships with hiring managers and applicants alike. I am passionate about creating safe and welcoming recruitment experiences that honour First Nations perspectives and lived experiences.

Alongside my professional role, I study Social Work part time. My studies deepen my understanding of social justice, advocacy, trauma-informed practice, and community development, all of which strengthen my work as a recruiter. Combining practical recruitment experience with social work knowledge allows me to approach my role with empathy, integrity, and cultural awareness. I am committed to contributing to positive outcomes for individuals, families, and communities through ethical and purposeful recruitment practices.

Experience

I am a recruitment professional with three years of experience delivering culturally respectful and community-focused hiring practices. In my current role, I manage end-to-end recruitment processes, including talent sourcing, candidate engagement, interviewing, and onboarding. I am committed to creating inclusive recruitment experiences that align with organisational values and support strong workforce development.

Prior to working in recruitment, I gained valuable experience at Centrelink, where I worked within the disability and employment services sectors. This role strengthened my communication skills, empathy, and ability to support individuals from diverse backgrounds to access meaningful employment opportunities.

Earlier in my career, I worked as a qualified baker within the blue-collar workforce. This hands-on trade experience provided me with a strong work ethic, resilience, and an understanding of operational environments.

Together, these experiences have shaped my people-focused approach, strong interpersonal skills, and commitment to supporting individuals into meaningful and sustainable employment opportunities.

Education

I am currently studying Social Work part time and have been undertaking my studies for the past five years. My education has strengthened my understanding of social justice, advocacy, community development, and trauma-informed practice, supporting my professional growth and people-focused approach.
