About Chahile Singh:

I’m an electrical engineering student with a strong foundation in power systems, circuit analysis, and engineering design, and a clear interest in energy and renewable technologies. My academic work has focused on understanding how electrical systems behave in real operating conditions - from power electronics and transformer testing to frequency-domain analysis and energy data modelling.

I’ve completed design projects spanning regulated power supply development, PCB design, energy consumer clustering using smart-meter data, and extensive laboratory work in AC power, transient systems, and electrical measurements. I enjoy work that connects theory with physical systems and practical constraints.

Beyond technical depth, I value teamwork and context-aware engineering. Projects such as the Engineers Without Borders challenge have reinforced the importance of sustainability, stakeholder needs, and long-term impact when designing infrastructure and energy systems.

I’m most interested in early-career roles within energy, renewables, utilities, or infrastructure, where I can continue learning from experienced engineers while contributing to reliable and sustainable electrical systems.

Experience

Power Supply Design & Implementation

Jul 2025 - Oct 2025

Designed and built a regulated power supply as part of a semester-long engineering design project, taking the system from initial requirements through to PCB implementation and testing. The project focused on practical power electronics, component selection, circuit stability, and real-world performance under load.

I worked across schematic design, simulation, PCB layout, and experimental validation, gaining hands-on exposure to how theoretical power concepts translate into physical hardware. Testing and iteration played a major role, particularly in balancing efficiency, regulation, and robustness.

This project solidified my interest in power and energy systems, especially where reliable electrical design underpins larger infrastructure and renewable technologies.

Power, AC & Transient Systems

Jul 2025 - Oct 2025

Completed an extensive series of laboratory experiments covering transformers, AC power, transient behaviour, and frequency response of electrical systems. Work included open- and short-circuit transformer testing, load analysis, power factor behaviour, and validation of theoretical models through experimental measurement.

A strong emphasis was placed on instrumentation, safe laboratory practice, and critically comparing measured results with theory and simulation. These labs provided a solid foundation in how real electrical systems behave beyond idealised models.

This experience reinforced my interest in power systems and energy-related engineering.

Energy Consumer Clustering & Analytics

Mar 2025 - Jun 2025

Analysed smart-meter energy consumption data to identify usage patterns and cluster consumers into meaningful groups. The goal was to explore how data-driven insights can support more efficient energy planning, demand management, and targeted interventions.

Beyond applying clustering techniques, the project focused on interpreting results in an energy systems context - understanding what different consumption behaviours imply for infrastructure, pricing, and sustainability initiatives.

This project helped bridge my interest in energy systems with data-supported decision-making, without losing sight of real-world applicability.

CAD-Driven Engineering Design

Jul 2024 - Oct 2024

Delivered a detailed engineering design project with a strong focus on CAD modelling and technical drawings using AutoCAD. The work involved producing clear, standards-compliant drawings that communicated design intent effectively.

This project strengthened my ability to think spatially, iterate designs, and communicate complex ideas visually - an essential skill in large-scale engineering and infrastructure projects.

Sustainable Water System Design – Cambodia

Mar 2024 - Jun 2024

Worked in a multidisciplinary team to develop a sustainable water containment and management concept for a rural Cambodian community as part of the Engineers Without Borders design challenge. The project required balancing technical feasibility with social, environmental, and economic constraints.

Our team researched local conditions, defined design requirements, evaluated multiple concepts, and justified a final solution through risk and feasibility analysis. Communication and teamwork were critical throughout the process.

This project highlighted how engineering decisions directly affect communities and strengthened my interest in infrastructure and sustainability-focused engineering.

Education

RMIT University

Bachelor of Engineering - BE

March 2024 - October 2027

Grade: 3.9/4.0

Activities and societies: Hands-on engineering laboratories, group design projects, independent technical projects, peer mentoring, and academic tutoring.

Completed a broad and hands-on electrical engineering program with a strong focus on power systems, energy, electronics, and practical engineering design. Coursework and labs covered circuit analysis, electrical machines, power electronics, embedded systems, digital systems, and control fundamentals.

Gained extensive experience through laboratory-based experiments, design projects, and technical reports, including transformer testing, transient and steady-state circuit analysis, PCB design, embedded microcontroller projects, and system modelling.

Projects emphasised translating theory into practice, safe laboratory procedures, clear technical documentation, and engineering judgement. Developed strong problem-solving skills, an understanding of real-world constraints, and an interest in energy systems, renewables, and infrastructure-focused engineering applications.
