• Performing basic maintenance on equipment including pre-start checks, refuelling, lubrication fill, inspections, rake changes, shunting and other ground duties.
• Facilitate the safe and efficient movement of trains across the Pilbara rail network; comprised of both mainline and yard areas.
• Support AutoHaul and manned train operations in mainline and yard areas, including responses to both planned and unplanned events.
• Provide an infield presence to conduct inspections, monitor and report network condition and action as required.
• Sharing knowledge, coaching and mentoring with other operators on all aspects of the role.
• Commitment to safety systems and experience participating in safety programs.
• Ensuring all work is undertaken in accordance with the Rail Operators Operating Rules and Procedures.
• Proven train driving experience

Year 12 high school certificate.

• Certificate IV Rail Operations (Train Driving).
• Certificate 3 in Transportation & Distribution (Rail Operations).
• Elementary industrial firefighting.
• Certificate in radio operation.
• MSA lifeguard (escape hood) familiarisation.
• Advanced breathing apparatus course.
• Workplace trainer / assessor (train small groups).
• Planning and Command course (W.A. Police).
• Chemical, biological and radiological emergency management course (W.A. Police).
• Certificate IV, Health and Fitness Instruction.
• Western Australian Drivers licence; codes C, HR and R.
• Occupational Safety & Health Representative.
