The Role

Join the Defence Learning Environment team as an APS 6 DLE Learning and Development Officer at DELTA, located at the Australian Defence College in Weston.

This role is accountable under broad direction to perform learning and development work within an integrated and complex workforce, and is pivotal in ensuring DELTA's compliance with legal and policy standards while supporting the strategic transformation of Defence's learning environment.

Responsibilities include coordinating stakeholder meetings, enhancing governance practices, and implementing sustainable business processes.

Effective communication and teamwork are essential for success, as you collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to improve operational efficiency within the learning environment.

You will provide detailed technical and professional learning and development advice, and contribute to strategic planning, program and project management, and policy development.

We are seeking a candidate with demonstrated experience in working autonomously and within a team to achieve successful outcomes in a learning environment.

We are looking for someone with excellent organisational skills, who is able to manage schedules, meetings, workflow, communications, and records.

Familiarity with document management systems like SharePoint or Objective is advantageous. Strong time management, attention to detail, and the ability to apply judgment and handle time-critical issues independently are essential.

You should excel in building relationships, engaging with stakeholders, negotiation, and providing constructive feedback.

Experience as a team leader or coach, and the ability to build internal capability of a team through coaching, delivering constructive feedback, and managing the work quality of others will be highly regarded.
