Applications Close: 18 June 2024 What you'll be doing An exciting opportunity exists for a Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 (CNS 2) in the Sexual Health Service within Targeted Clinical services, Public and Population Health, who will provide expert clinical care and advice to clients with complex health care needs relating to Sexual Health and HIV.

The Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 is a clinical expert who, through leadership facilitates excellence in research based clinical practice, education, research and professional leadership.

This position is responsible for the provision of services across both the Illawarra and Shoalhaven regions in primary and outreach settings.

Service delivery targets priority populations of men who have sex with men, sex workers, people living with HIV, young people, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders and people who inject drugs.

The position is also responsible for the provision of education to other health care workers and educators in the community in relation to sexual health.

Selection Criteria Current authority to practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

Relevant post-registration qualification and at least 3 years' experience working in the clinical area of their specified post-graduate qualification, or such other qualifications or equivalent experience deemed appropriate.

Demonstrated advanced knowledge and understanding of current issues related to the transmission and prevention of Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) and Blood Borne Viruses (BBVs) including viral hepatitis and harm minimisation principles.

Demonstrated ability to carry out an extended role and demonstrated ability to exercise extended autonomy of decision making capabilities and leadership in the development of nursing specialty clinical practice and service delivery.

Demonstrated clinical expertise in client consultancy with the ability and willingness to work autonomously, accept responsibility and the ability to prioritise work practices.

Demonstrated skills in developing and conducting educational sessions and providing clinical teaching.
Demonstrated functional knowledge of data management principles and a high level of computer literacy.
Current unrestricted NSW driver's license and the ability to work across various locations within the ISLHD boundaries.
