    About the opportunity

    Reporting to the Information Security Manager, the Senior Security Engineer will be responsible for many of the key functions around security operations and architecture, enhancing threat detection capabilities and incident response.

    This role provides an exciting opportunity for those with a passion for security and technologies, it offers the chance to utilise and enhance your skills in threat detection, and response. You'll play a critical role with a strong technical focus that aims to ensure the resilience and robustness of Littlepay's platform and to help in achieving Littlepay's security objectives and deliverables.

    Day to day, you'll:

    • Enhance threat detection capabilities through design, integration and tuning of security tools and technologies.
    • Plan and implement security automation across multiple technology stacks.
    • Assist with architecture review and design through a security lens.
    • Develop and implement comprehensive incident response plans; manage and coordinate cybersecurity incidents from identification through resolution
    • Collaborate, coach and assist to teams in solving security issues in a manner that complies with business requirements and to ensure cybersecurity best practices are integrated across the organisation.
    • Conduct regular security assessments, audits, and continuous monitoring to identify vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
    • Stay up-to-date on the latest security threats landscape and vulnerabilities as well as advancements in cybersecurity technologies and methodologies and bring insights into the organisation.

    Requirements

    About you

    You are a highly motivated and experienced Security Engineer (we're looking for at least 5 years' experience in cybersecurity) with a strong knowledge of network, security engineering principles and practices.

    The successful applicant need not arrive with all of the required skills and knowledge from day 1, as we've built learning into our team practice with a day per week set aside for personal and professional growth. We're open to many different skillsets, and candidates who can speak to any of these topics are folks we'd like to chat with:

    • Experience in engineering cyber security tools like SIEM/SOAR, EDR, firewalls, intrusion detection systems.
    • Advanced understanding of security protocols, cryptography, and network
    • Experience working in AWS.
    • Security frameworks and methodologies — OWASP Top 10, MITRE ATT&CK, Cyber Kill Chain, etc

    Regardless of what kind of player you are, these skills are essential:

    • Strong background in cyber security. Strong understanding of cyber security principles.
    • Proficient in scripting languages to automate SOC processes.
    • Communication - we do a lot of communicating and strong written and verbal communication will be important
    • Empathy - we're a service provider, so having high empathy for our internal stakeholders is a big deal
    • Passion for learning - we take learning and growth seriously and you'll need to be down with that
