    About the role

    As an Operational Efficiency Principal, you will be accountable for designing and then delivering a significant ongoing programme of work across InfraCo which supports our 30-year asset plan settings and supports our ambition to become a top-quartile digital infrastructure provider underpinned by relevant globally benchmarked metrics.

    The Operating Efficiency Principal will lead a small direct and larger indirect team to identify initiatives which will continue to lift our operational efficiency and performance and will then oversee the delivery of projects and activities to meet our ambition.

    Key responsibilities

    As a Operational Efficiency Principal, you apply extensive experience in the Business Operations domain, and a passion for people to:

    • Significantly contribute by providing advice, counsel and recommendations to Executives and senior leaders on setting strategic priorities and opportunities to improve financial and operational efficiency through having shared accountability for the overall delivery
    • Oversee and own the development of Business Operations roadmaps that enable delivery against business plans (including OPEX and CAPEX planning), identifying risks and devising mitigation strategies, where required.
    • Ensure agreed business plans are operationalised and implemented to agreed standards
    • Directly shape sound business decisions and outcomes which are linked to cost and performance, ensuring transparency is provided and they drive strategic outcomes
    • Develop and influence the Game Plan, including development of the annual operating budget
    • Establish and lead the delivery of functional unit specific programs of work, ensuring that they are achieved within the prescribed parameters and agreed budget
    • Promote innovative and creative approaches to addressing complex business issues which balance the benefits and associated risks to present a range of solutions
    • Engage with team and stakeholders cross-functionally to manage competing priorities, tension or outcomes created by complex problems and/or their solutions
    • Promote quality and consistency of Business Operations standards, ensuring the team adopts enterprise-wide requirements and best-practice tools, process and methodologies
    • Authentically collaborate with and influence key cross functional stakeholders across functional units (i.e. Functional Design Leads, process owners, initiative owners) to ensure business requirements align to agree strategic plans
    • Significantly contribute to continuously improve process, tools and systems to optimise performance of our people
    • Coach others to form and lead high-performing teams with the right skills, experiences and mindsets to deliver on strategic priorities
    • Actively maintain your talent pipeline, overseeing strategic initiatives designed to evolve the capability of your team, in-line with emerging/future trends and growth opportunities
    • Foster a culture of excellence by driving and measuring the continuous improvement of programs, processes and systems of work
    • Act as a role model by championing our ways of working and being passionate about coaching, mentoring and the development of our people

    About you

    To be successful in the role, you must have:

    Essential

    • Demonstrated significant Infrastructure experience (10+ years) – either in Product development roles or Operations
    • Be highly numerate – with the ability to analyse complex information quickly and draw sound conclusions
    • Be adept at navigating complexity and leading problem solving
    • Have strong and established leadership and influencing skills – with the ability to take a leading role across the InfraCo organisation and influence outcomes with stakeholders
    • Have experience in large programme delivery – including benefits management
    • Advanced communication skills – the ability to translate complex technical information into understandable concepts – both written and verbally
