    Habit Coach (Allied Health Assistant) in Shepparton

    Our team of change-makers is dedicated to fostering inclusion for all Australians, offering services like Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Speech Pathology, Positive Behaviour Supports, Early Childhood Supports, and Habit Coaches.

    About The Role
    As a Habit Coach at Everyday Independence, you will:

    • Support NDIS participants in Shepparton and nearby areas such as Echuca, Benella, Cobram, Tatura, or Numurkah.
    • Work with participants at their homes or in community locations, driving to/from sessions as needed.
    • Provide support across all age groups to promote independence and help individuals reach their full potential under the guidance of primary therapists.

    What does a typical Habit Coach session entail?
    You will implement therapy plans, focusing on goals such as:

    • Supporting Independence: Helping a high-schooler use public transport.
    • Promoting Healthy Habits: Guiding an adult in grocery shopping and meal prep for better nutrition.
    • Encouraging Social Engagement: Assisting a child in after-school routines and social play.

    What's Needed for Success?
    To excel as a Habit Coach, you must either be:

    • Studying towards a degree in Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, or Physiotherapy (at least 2nd year).

    OR

    • Hold a Certificate 3 or 4 in Allied Health Assistance or equivalent, with relevant experience (e.g., disability support).

    In addition, you should:

    • Have weekday availability from 7am to 7pm.
    • Be free at least two afternoons a week for sessions (3:30pm – 6:30pm).
    • Be willing to travel regionally.
    • Follow instructions effectively.
    • Show empathy, emotional intelligence, and professionalism.
    • Demonstrate a clear focus on participant goals.
    • Be self-motivated, reliable, and a strong communicator.
    • Hold a valid driver's license and have access to a vehicle.
    • Provide necessary checks like NDIS Workers Screening and Working with Childrens Check.
