    About the Role:

    The Nursing and Midwifery Workforce Unit (NMWU) assists in the recruitment and workforce-related affairs of nurses and midwives in all sectors at Canberra Health Services (CHS).

    The recruitment team lead oversees a small, supportive, and enjoyable team. This role supports various aspects of the unit, including managing inboxes and phone lines, communicating with managers and candidates, and handling administrative tasks within the unit. The team lead plays a crucial role in meeting recruitment deadlines, tracking priorities, and addressing issues escalated by the administrative staff.

    Canberra Hospital Expansion Project: CHS is erecting a new critical services structure named 'Building 5,' a 44,000sqm nine-story facility designed to offer cutting-edge acute clinical services at the Canberra Hospital. Building 5 is the most extensive healthcare infrastructure initiative in the Territory's history, representing a significant clinical and operational change initiative by Canberra Health Services. It merges with several existing buildings on the Campus to enable smooth public access, patient transport, and logistical distribution.

    North Canberra Hospital: Starting 3 July 2023, Calvary Public Hospital Bruce transitioned to CHS, transforming into North Canberra Hospital. This transformation will create a unified health system under a single provider, expanding work opportunities for staff at both CHS locations. The ACT Government plans to construct a new hospital on the current Bruce campus to address the community's growing healthcare demands, with construction beginning in the mid-decade to offer more beds, expanded services, and increased career prospects.
