    About the role:

    A fantastic opportunity awaits you at Box Hill Institute (BHI) as our Technical Support Officer in the Refrigeration team!

    The Technical Support Officer - Refrigeration is crucial for maintaining tools and equipment for refrigeration and electrical practical classes, ensuring they meet industry standards and are ready for use during class sessions. In addition, coordination of the equipment for practical delivery is a key responsibility.

    This role, part of the Faculty of Trades Refrigeration team, involves professional interaction with internal employees at all levels within Box Hill Institute, as well as collaborating with external stakeholders such as the Air-conditioning Mechanical Contractors Australia (AMCA).

    About You:

    The essential Qualifications and Expertise for the Technical Support Officer role include:

    • Certificate III in a relevant subject area
    • Forklift License (desirable)
    • Level 2 First Aid qualification or the willingness to undergo this training

    Your skills and experience should cover:

    Maintenance & Trade Skills:

    • Demonstrated Electrical Disconnect/Reconnect, Test and Tag Experience
    • Refrigeration/Plumbing trade experience
    • Experience in mechanical, equipment, and facility maintenance, particularly in an educational setting

    Technical Support:

    • Proven ability to support the setup, execution, and conclusion of simulation, workshops, laboratories, and other practical teaching sessions

    Health & Safety:

    • Knowledge and application of workplace health and safety principles and practices
