    Open Arms serves as the primary access point for veterans and their families to receive essential services, including counseling, aimed at enhancing their mental well-being.     The Business Operations Branch plays a vital role in providing administrative and business assistance to Open Arms' counseling services and division.

    The Departmental Officer - OPC Data Analytics is responsible for supporting daily data management tasks, contributing to data integration processes, and handling contract reporting matters in alignment with team and organizational objectives. The OPC Data Analyst specializes in managing, analyzing, and articulating data effectively to drive informed decision-making.

    Duties:
    • Acquiring and structuring data from various sources to gain insights into business challenges
    • Interpreting data using established methods
    • Implementing data collection systems and analyses to optimize data quality
    • Identifying and sourcing new data sets
    • Extracting valuable information and identifying trends from data sets
    • Supporting system requirements for service delivery
    • Developing standard operating procedures and reports for executive teams
    • Creating visualizations using data analytics tools like Tableau
    • Proposing and implementing strategies for service delivery enhancements and cost reductions
    • Collaborating on process improvements and best practice reviews
    • Ensuring data governance, integration, and quality meet client specifications
    • Assisting with ad-hoc data requests and tasks when necessary
    • Contributing expertise to support continuous improvement initiatives and cross-functional projects

    Eligibility:

    • Australian citizenship is a mandatory requirement for employment under section 22(8) of the Public Service Act 1999.
    • External applicants must undergo a pre-engagement screening check as stipulated by the Australian Government Protective Security Policy Framework.

    Notes:

    If offered a non-ongoing position, the initial term can be up to 18 months.

    A merit pool of suitable candidates may be established for future vacancies over the next 18 months.

    New APS recruits will undergo a probationary period.
