About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Finance Manager to join our team at Oscar Wylee, a leader in global eyewear retail and healthcare services based in Australia. This pivotal role concentrates on enhancing our financial structure through meticulous accounting, financial reporting, and taxation practices. You will ensure our operations remain precise, compliant, and timely in all financial matters. Reporting to our Finance Director, the core responsibilities include:

• Financial Accounting & Reporting: Lead the delivery of comprehensive financial accounting and reporting, ensuring clarity and accuracy in every figure.
• Compliance Monitoring: Keep a close watch on statutory GST and tax lodgements, reviewing them regularly to maintain compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
• Management Accounts & Reporting: Take charge of preparing month-end management accounts and board reporting packs, providing insightful analysis to support decision-making.
• Financial Statements & Tax Returns: Prepare detailed year-end financial statements and tax returns, ensuring they are completed accurately and within deadlines.
• Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Conduct monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations, identifying and resolving any discrepancies swiftly.
• Support to Management: Offer support for ad-hoc requests from management, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to engage in a variety of tasks.

About you

We are seeking someone with:

• A minimum of three to four years of experience in a similar role, ideally within a similar industry.
• Full membership in a recognised accountancy institute such as CA or CPA.
• Experience with New Zealand and Canadian companies is highly regarded, though not essential.
• A keen eye for detail and a natural investigative approach to work.
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, capable of engaging effectively across all levels of the organisation.
• Proficiency in communication, both written and verbal, is essential.
