An exciting opportunity to join a leading Underwriting Agency. Our ideal candidate will have experience as a Professional Indemnity Underwriter or Broker, ideally with some Medical Malpractice experience.

With a focus on work life balance, this role will allow you the option to work up to 2 days per week from home. This position would ideally suit candidates based in the South Brisbane, Logan or North Gold Coast regions.

The Underwriting Agency is a privately owned company and have built a solid and experienced team. They invite you to join us on this journey as they continue to grow their business. Their specialty is in finding solutions for hard to place risks, where we have established a strong brand.

Position

As a Professional Indemnity Underwriter with Lion, you will work closely with a dedicated team to provide underwriting services to the broker market. Your responsibilities will include liaising with brokers and internal staff to ensure policy terms and conditions are met and supporting the company in promoting its brand to the broker network.

Drive new enquiries, underwrite and produce professional indemnity & medical malpractice quotes
Manage renewals and mid-term adjustments
Grow an existing and developing portfolio
Coordinate placement with overseas insurers
Develop new broker relationships whilst proactively identifying client requirements.
Influence outcomes that maximise the potential for long-term relationships, including idea and solution generation with the client
Collaborate with brokers to engage in short-term and long-term goal setting
Maintain strong customer relations

The Ideal candidate

Tier 1 or 2 qualification.
2 or more years broking or underwriting experience in Professional indemnity, Medical Malpractice or Liability
Work within a team environment
Excellent customer service and relationship building skills
Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision
Enthusiastic, self motivated and team spirited business approach
Sound communication skills
Analytical skills and a high level of attention to detail
Good understanding of Professional indemnity and Medical Malpractice and Liability principles
Have a good understanding of claims made and retroactive cover
